How to Prepare for Your First Meeting with a Mediator

Hi! Has anyone had experience going to a mediator? Can you tell me how to prepare for this? I have my first meeting in a few days, and to be honest, I'm a little nervous. My wife and I decided not to drag it out to court, but to try to come to an agreement calmly. Our situation is not the most conflict-ridden, but I'm still worried that I won't be able to convey everything correctly. Maybe there is some advice - what to take with you, what exactly to think about in advance?

Hi! I was at my first session not long ago, and I can tell you - it's not as scary as it seems. The main thing is to come with an open mind and not expect everything to be resolved right away. In the UK, before meeting with a mediator, we are often advised to make a list of topics that are important to discuss: children, housing, finances. This helps not to get lost. I also recommend looking at this page about Divorce Mediation - it helped me to structure my thoughts a little before the meeting. Good luck to you, you are on the right track.
